Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention
Presented by GMC

September 30 - October 3, 2026

This annual event, where the Alabama State Fiddle Champion is crowned (along with the top winner in over a dozen other categories being crowned Alabama State Champions) brings some 200 contestants and an estimated 10,000+ folk music fans to the grounds of historic Athens State University in Athens, Alabama the first full weekend of October each year.

2026 Entertainment Lineup (included with your admission ticket!):

• Wednesday, September 30 at 7:30 PM: The Larry Sparks Show
• Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 PM: Mike Compton & Andy Todd, followed by Dale Ann Bradley
• Friday, October 2 at 6:00 PM: The Isaacs
• Saturday, October 3 at 7:30 PM: The Del McCoury Band

Also at the convention, area craftsmen display their arts and crafts at the annual arts and crafts fair held in conjunction with the musical competition, offering unique and custom-made souvenirs. There is something for everyone at the Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention!
